Delete your AppMe account

How to delete your AppMe account and what happens to your personal data.

I. About this page

This page explains how to delete your AppMe account and the personal data associated with it. It applies to both the AppMe mobile applications and the AppMe web platform. AppMe is operated by ELLU S.R.L. (the "Company"), which acts as the data controller for the purposes of personal-data legislation. For more information about how we process your personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.

II. Delete your account from inside the app

If you can sign in to AppMe, the fastest way to delete your account is from your account settings. The flow is the same on the mobile apps and on the web.

  1. Sign in to AppMe and open My Account (clients) or Business → Profile settings (professionals).
  2. Scroll to the Delete account section at the bottom of the page.
  3. Tap Delete account. A warning will appear summarising what will happen to your data.
  4. Confirm by typing DELETE (uppercase) in the confirmation field. You may optionally tell us why you are leaving — this is never required.
  5. Tap Delete account again. You will be signed out on all devices immediately and redirected to the login screen.

If you own a business on AppMe

Business owners can only delete their account after the business itself is empty. Before you can delete your account, please:

  1. Delete all locations attached to your business.
  2. Remove all other staff members from the business.
  3. Downgrade your subscription to the Free plan.

The delete dialog will show a checklist of any remaining items. If you need help closing your business, please contact us at office@appme.app.

III. Request deletion if you can no longer sign in

If you have lost access to your account (for example, you uninstalled the app, forgot your password and cannot recover it, or no longer have access to the email address used to register), you can ask us to delete your account on your behalf.

Email us at office@appme.app with the subject "Account deletion request" and include:

  1. The email address associated with your AppMe account.
  2. The phone number on file (optional, helps us locate the account).
  3. A short note explaining why you cannot sign in.

We will verify ownership before processing the request, usually by sending a confirmation message to the email address on file. We aim to action verified requests within 30 days and will confirm by email once your account has been deleted.

IV. What data is deleted and what is retained

A. Data we delete or anonymise

When your account is deleted, the following is removed or anonymised immediately:

  • Your profile information on AppMe (name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, profile picture, communication-language preference and any other personal details you provided).
  • Your authentication data (password hash, OAuth links to Google or Apple, push-notification device tokens and all active sessions).
  • Your saved payment methods stored for one-tap checkout.
  • Your saved locations (home and work addresses) and your favourites (clinics and services).
  • Any upcoming bookings, which are automatically cancelled so the business that would have served you knows the appointment will no longer take place.

B. Data we retain in anonymised form

Some records cannot be deleted without breaking obligations we owe to the businesses you interacted with, to the tax authorities, or to other users. We keep these records, but we remove your personal identifiers so they can no longer be linked back to you:

  • Past appointments, payments and invoices — retained to support the businesses you visited in their bookkeeping, to handle disputes and refunds, and to comply with tax-archiving obligations under Romanian law.
  • Reviews you wrote — retained without your name so the business's rating history remains intact and other users continue to benefit from the feedback.
  • Your Stripe customer record — retained with an anonymised email and a deletion tag, so that historical payment records referenced by the businesses you paid continue to function. We no longer process payments or send any emails to this record.

V. After your account is deleted

Once deletion is complete, signing in with the deleted email address (whether by password, Google or Apple) will be rejected. AppMe will not send you any further marketing, booking-related or transactional emails. Stripe will stop emitting renewal, trial or payment-failure emails for any cancelled subscription.

If you change your mind, you are welcome to create a new account at any time. We will not be able to restore your previous bookings, reviews, credits or favourites — these remain retained only in anonymised form, as described above.
